Media Literacy 4000: Class Reflection

Class Reflection   Sept 22, 2015

Last nights class was very abstract and very interesting. For me it was beneficial to discuss this idea of "connectivism". Throughout this ideas I had generated an idea of what this term meant but from last night and hearing everyone else discussing, the gaps that I had before were no longer there. I feel as though I had gained an understanding of connectivism and why it is i
mportant.

Professor provided us with a picture and asked what is this and what would happen if we didn't have it. The picture below I am going to ask the same questions. So if you want take a moment look at the picture and see what else you can cannot it too and it could anything.

For example last night we connected an oak tree to animals by providing a home and food for them and we also connected it to humans for creating a house or fire wood.

Your image is a carrot! Have fun can't to see what everyone relates it too!

This was one of the most fun activities I have completed. My group and I decided to complete our PSA on growth mindset vs. fixed mindset. We used the idea of the devil and angel advocate to represent our growth mindset (angel) vs. the fixed mindset (devil). We chose this topic because as future teachers we feel as though our students face similar feelings and thoughts during their education career. The purpose of our PSA is to motivate students to believe in themselves they can accomplish anything. Personally, our students are so young and having a fixed mindset at their age is not healthy, it takes away from their imagination. Therefore, as a future teacher I hope to motivate and inspire my students and teach them that learning is fun and that they can accomplish so much in their lives.
